West Virginia Virgin Hyperloop Certification Center Site Near Harman’s Cabins

West Virginia will soon be the home of Virgin Hyperloop’s newest certification center in the United States. The historic decision is a significant step in Virgin Hyperloop’s goal of making hyperloop transportation a reality in the United States.

The new certification center will test the presently theoretical transportation system, with plans of transporting people and cargo at speeds of up to 600 miles-per-hour. The transport system would use magnetic levitation to support near-silent travel and would be twice as fast as commercial jet flight.

The new certification center will no doubt raise interest from visitors and finding a place to stay near the new facility will be important.

The town was home to an abolitionist uprising during the Civil War, a fiery death at the hands of an oncoming train, and a local church that played the role of a hospital during the Civil War. Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum

An amusement park built atop cursed land? That’s Lake Shawnee Amusement Park. Built in 1926, abandoned in 1966, and reopened for one year in the 1980s, Lake Shawnee Amusement Park has its fair share of haunting history. The site of the amusement park was the site of a massacre between two families over a land dispute during the 1700s. If that’s not enough to frighten you, after the park reopened in the 1980s, an archeological dig uncovered Native American artifacts and human remains. There are now many paranormal tours held.
